Sweater Time!

Eeeek!!! It's chilly today and it's such a welcomed change. No more high humidity and high temperatures. I geeked out when I read the weather report for this week. So perfect I can't wait for it to be like this all the time! This cooler weather calls for none other than sweater inspiration.
[Buy these delightful sweaters: 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/]

Anybody notice a pattern? Polka dots and adorable animals are what I'm craving to be on my sweaters this fall. Actually I crave polka dots on anything in any season! But the animals are just so adorable that I couldn't help but include them.

I have a slightly creepy story that my dad told me about owls that I was remind of when I saw the sweater with an owl on it. My dad's childhood best friend's mom (did you follow that?) had a huge obsession with owls, they were everywhere in the house. One day my dad's childhood best friend's brother had an owl run into his truck and the owl died. Because of that fact that he knew that his mom had an obsession with owls he got it stuffed and gave it to his mom. After that it sat in a glass cabinet in the living room and my dad said he felt like it was following him with it's glass eyes. Creepy right? Well, I thought it was.

Have a great weekend guys! xo Jess.

Mustard like and Minty!

So I’m not ashamed to say that I’m happy I’ve made it through the first week of the school year. Yahoo! Let me tell you, my teacher’s get right down to business. I started the curriculum already in Geometry (yuck!) and in Global History Ten.
This little shin-dig of an outfit is what I wore on picture day yesterday! Everyone I know hates picture day. We all seem to find the littlest flaw in our pictures. I’ll be honest I didn’t hate my picture from last year. It was nice. My hair did what it was supposed to and my makeup looked good. I took these pictures after school yesterday, my hair was still intact and so was my makeup.  I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that it turns out decent.
[I'm Wearing: Lace Top: Aerie by American Eagle, Mint Tank Top: Charlotte Russe, Mustard Jeans: Walmart, High Heels: Target. ]
The inspiration behind this actually comes from two of my favorite bloggers, Elizabeth and Tieka. They've both sported beautiful mint/mustard outfits so I decided to give it a try. I really like how the pieces I picked out play together. The mint is really subtle, because it’s under my lace sweater but you can still see it nicely and I really like that.
This ring! Ohh, I’ve fallen in love with it. The worst part is I hijacked it from a friend of mine. Actually I took it off her finger in English class and I wore it during our French class and now it’s mine. (She approved.) I think it matches my pants more than anything else I’m wearing.
And to close out this post I’m going to talk about what closes out my outfit, these shoes. I got so many comments about them but I really love them. Yes, they make me really tall, yes they make a lot of noise when I walk and yes, they aren’t the best choice for a four-story building  with stairs but I love them and will wear them proudly.  I enjoy being slightly daring with my shoe-wear.

My question for you. Do you like any of your previously taken school pictures?

Have a great weekend everyone! xoxo Jess.

this is outfit number two of my 30 for 30 challenge.

A pretty good hand.

Over the past 5 years I've been dealt a hand of cards that I would consider pretty good. My good cards have out weighed my bad cards big time. I've gotten lucky in that department, because we only have control over what we do with the card we are dealt and what cards we are dealt. And I'm not sure why it is that some of the nicest people get the worst hand they could possibly get while other people who clearly don't deserve it  get a beautiful royal flush. They just do, in my experience though it will catch up with them sooner or later.

[Sneek Peek of Tomorrows Outfit Post.]
With the start of school this week some of my old, bad cards were brought up. I find that certain
ones get touchier with time and the particular one that was brought up falls right into that category. This one started getting touchy about 3 years ago now it's volatile but I tread lightly, defend myself when needed and protect myself when it blows. But nothing is ever perfect. Sometimes even though we do all that stuff it doesn't just blow, it takes us down with it as collateral damage. The aftermath leaves us picking up the pieces of something we know will never be the same. I've done that so many times with that one card that I didn't see the actual damage it had done.

I've seen it and I'm glad that the card that caused it all is no longer in my hand.
