It's the Little Things
I have never really been a big jewelry girl. Sure I've got a few statement necklaces and quirky rings but my heart lies in the dainty selection of jewelry. I love way a simple necklace like my Butterfly Twist necklace from Peggy Li Creations can make an outfit sweeter or how a bracelet like this Kate Spade one can not only be a nod to my dancer lifestyle but a reminder to have a little fun or with a modern twist this Micheal Kors bracelet is perfect for a balanced splash of glam. So today I'm sharing with you a fun little collection of all my favorite dainty jewelry from around the web!

Spring's a coming
Spring's a Coming Outfit Details: Modcloth, Jacket: Topshop, Shoes: Solesociety, Purse: Yoox, Lip Pencil: NARS.
With the warm weather that's creeped back into Buffalo I've been drawn to pastels, dresses and light weight jackets. This outfit would be perfect for any spring occasion but I would wear this for a day at the park or a day outing with friends. What are you dreaming of for spring?

Spring Wishlist
I've been sick for the past two day and I thought that this would be a great time to share my spring wishlist since I won't be getting "dressed up" for a day or two.
Spring is a beautiful season full of the most beautiful colors. My favorite thing about spring has got to be the colors. The pretty pastels are everywhere and it's gorgeous. So it only makes sense that they'd creep their way into my wardrobe. Another amazing thing about spring is bare legs! Although I don't don tights every time I slip on a dress I wear them enough to get sick of them come spring. So I say bye-bye to tights and hello to bare legs!
Although I completely adore everything, my ultimate wants from this wishlist are the Yacht Party Dress from Ruche, the Monday's Best Cardigan from Modcloth, Dear Creature's Sweet Caroline dress from Emerging Thoughts and Kate Spade's Things We Love coffee table book. What's on your spring wishlist? xoxo Jess. ___________________________________________________________________________________________

Nautical Inspired
I’m sure you could have guessed with Monday's outfit and all that I’m completely obsessed with nautical inspired stuff. There’s something about it I can’t get over. So today I present to you a nautical inspired “Things I love”. Also I felt like using a bit of French today, not sure why but eh, whatever.

Christmas List
Hey everybody it’s 18 days till Christmas! Have you gotten all of your shopping done? No? Me either, I’m a huge slacker in that department I always shop up until the last minute sometime I've even had to go out on Christmas eve. Not fun! I wanted to share this cute little wishlist I made of things I want for Christmas.

[Click Picture To Enlarge If Needed]
Kelli Murray Print- I've been say this every time I include one of her prints in a wishlist but I’ll say it again, I adore her work. It’s all so beautiful. This print is just so cute that I might buy it myself.Cat Ears Ring- Oh my! My inner cat lady is in full view, I love this ring. It’s quirky yet still cute.
Bow Ring- Almost like polka dots bows are another one of my obsessions. This Kate Spade ring is so cute and I think it would look equally as cute on my finger.
White Knit Sweater- Some days you want to spruce up your winter attire, the sweater and jeans can be a bit repetitive but with a sweater like this one you have a way of spicing it up!
Blue Polka Dot Cardigan-Lace and polka dots, this cardi was made for me! (It's really embroidered but shhh!)
Blue Knit Cardigan- I've been looking for a cardigan that’s like this one for what seems like forever now. It’s perfect.
Tweed Booties & Gold Shoes- I have been lusting over these two pairs of shoes for months, I just haven’t felt the need for either of them. But it’s now winter and New Year’s is right around the corner. Yay boots and hello glitter!
Black Purse- Here’s a little story for you: the purse I have now is almost two years old. I've had it for so long that I can’t find a purse I love that isn’t just like it. This one would be a great change but would keep me inside my comfort zone for purses. Yep, I have a purse comfort zone. Go ahead laugh!
Polka Dot Kate Spade Wallet: Just like my purse my wallet is probably the oldest accessory I own to date. It's really funny, because when I bought my simple black wallet I never imagined getting attached to it. I love this one thought, polka dots are my thing and they make me smile!

Ugly, Ugly Sweater!
Whenever December rolls around all I can think of wearing are ugly Christmas sweaters. You can’t have the holidays without ugly Christmas sweaters. Of course not all of the Christmas sweaters are actually ugly, they’re just cutesy but you can’t have a cutesy Christmas sweater. It just isn't right! Take a look at some of my favorite ugly Christmas sweaters! Which one’s your favorite?

Booties
As a cold weather native I prefer to wait as long as possible before pulling out my boots. I immediately think of winter when I think of boots not fall like most people. But since it’s November I thought I could share my favorite boots and booties. (Boots coming to you soon)

En Pointe.
I'm as late as ever sharing this but I kinda wanted to wait until it was after my family celebrated Thanksgiving. Mainly because there's this unspoken rule in my mind that says: don't do anything that has to do with winter until after thanksgiving. Otherwise November doesn't get it's time to shine. On to the lookbook/eye candy.
I've been dancing since I was a wee 5 years old and it's my first love that's never given up on me. I have this love/hate relationship with dancing in the media. Usually what they capture seems to be geared toward the negative effects dancing can have on your mind, body and soul. They're good things too and I think that this lookbook shows that. It might be just a photoshoot with multiple dancers but it does show that sometimes it is a bit glamorous and sparkly. I love that and that is what keeps me coming back to dance. It does get ugly but if you're doing it right the bad will outweigh the good.

Thanksgiving Day Wears!
This year we’re doing Thanksgiving on the Sunday before instead of the Sunday after. I don’t usually wear something overly dressy because in my family all of our holidays are celebrated as a relaxed, friendly get together. I’ll most likely be overdressed in just jeans and a pretty blouse but I certainly had fun putting this dream outfit together!

Something Pretty
Two Fridays ago one of my favorite bloggers, Elise of A Beautiful Mess released her newest dress collection, which happens to be in collaboration with possibly my favorite online retailer, Modcloth. Elsie’s collection consists of 10 pieces all so beautiful and stylish. Elsie’s collection is available through Modcloth and have I mentioned that everything is super cute.
The top Emma is wearing is a must just because it adorns some dots. Yep, I’m officially a polka-dot freak (not that I wasn't before...). Everything I see with polka-dots on it automatically gets a double take from me. Also I’m really into gingham print this fall (see me wearing it here), so this dress that Kinsey is wearing is so going on my never ending wishlist of clothing. What's your favorite piece from Elise's collection for Modcloth???
xoxo Jess.

[Buy the Modern Heart Dress and the Won't You be my Neighborhood Dress]
I love how Katie wears these two dresses. These two dresses are my absolute favorite pieces of Elsie’s collection; I especially love the quirky pocket designs. (Note: The houses aren't actually pockets but they’re placed where pockets would be.)[All pictures except the first are from Elsie Larson's blog, A Beautiful Mess. The first one was found on the Modcloth blog.]

Beautiful color, lousy name.
Oxblood. It sounds like something that belongs in the wild not on a piece of clothing. What’s wrong with burgundy or wine? Why oxblood? I feel like they had to kill an animal (probably an ox) to get the color. I just find it oh-so wrong. There are a few things in fashion that unattractive and this is one of them.
Follow on Bloglovin' | Follow on Twitter | Follow on Pinterest
But enough with me bashing the name of this color and onto praising how it looks in fall. Fall is time for deep colors and for a girl who describes her style as very girly it’s hard to find the perfect balance in fall. Take a look at some of my favorite ways to find that balance while still using oxblood below.
Oh and Happy Thanksgiving to all you Canadians out there. Eat some turkey for me will ya?

Weekly Wishlist: Fall Hues.
Sometimes I think that I really just love fall, because of the colors that come with it. Also I have to laugh at myself for picking that polka dot skirt, because I said to myself that I didn't know if I would be able to transfer my love for all things dotty to fall, silly, silly me! Can we discuss about the fact that the Dear Creatures dress (1) is so pretty and perfect for fall that

Sweater Time!
Eeeek!!! It's chilly today and it's such a welcomed change. No more high humidity and high temperatures. I geeked out when I read the weather report for this week. So perfect I can't wait for it to be like this all the time! This cooler weather calls for none other than sweater inspiration.

Anybody notice a pattern? Polka dots and adorable animals are what I'm craving to be on my sweaters this fall. Actually I crave polka dots on anything in any season! But the animals are just so adorable that I couldn't help but include them.
I have a slightly creepy story that my dad told me about owls that I was remind of when I saw the sweater with an owl on it. My dad's childhood best friend's mom (did you follow that?) had a huge obsession with owls, they were everywhere in the house. One day my dad's childhood best friend's brother had an owl run into his truck and the owl died. Because of that fact that he knew that his mom had an obsession with owls he got it stuffed and gave it to his mom. After that it sat in a glass cabinet in the living room and my dad said he felt like it was following him with it's glass eyes. Creepy right? Well, I thought it was.
Have a great weekend guys! xo Jess.

Fall Transitions.
With fall right around the corner I'm getting sad that some of my favorite summer pieces have to go on the back burner until next year. Don't get me wrong I love fall and all the weather it brings but summer and I have a very very deep bond while autumn and I have a very unhealthy love hate thing going on. (I've never said fall is my favorite season, I've said it's one of my favorites.)
Like most people when fall comes around I pull out a sweater or two. With this look if you wear a flowy skirt in the mustard, maroon or navy blue you can keep the summery feel while still embracing fall. With any skirt I think flats are a safe bet but if you want a little heel add a little bootie to your feet. I personally like matching my shoes to my the color or texture of my top.
My Personal Fashion Tip #1: Wear shorter boots with longer dresses. For me, I've found that longer hem lines with shorter boots keep a conservative look.
My Personal Fashion Tip #2: Please don't wear your everyday UGG's with theses. You can wear UGGs just not your everyday to day ones. They tend to become dingy and worn very fast. I personally love these ones.
I think that's what brought on this giant does of window shopping that I've been indulging in lately. I keep falling back on some of my summer dresses and skirts thinking how can I take you into fall with me? Fall has a very specific color story that is very different from summer so it can be hard but I think I found a few ways that I might be able to pull of summer-y things a little while longer.
I love floral dresses no matter what time of year. Adding a cardigan within the fall color story makes your summer dress flow into autumn seamlessly. Add some chestnut brown booties or heels and you've got yourself a killer autumn outfit. This transition tip is something I touched on in Crisp & Clean. If you have a light, lace longer sleeved dress you can stick some chestnut boots underneath and create this very beautiful yet rustic feel.
My Personal Fashion Tip #2: Please don't wear your everyday UGG's with theses. You can wear UGGs just not your everyday to day ones. They tend to become dingy and worn very fast. I personally love these ones.
What are you favorite fall transition tip? I think I love the sweater & a skirt tip the most. Have a great Wednesday. -Jess.

Autumn Purse Dreams
As my mind starts to drift into "fall mode" I'm thinking it's time for a new bag. The one I carry around I've had since April of last year. I need a new and have been trying to find one I really love for a very long time without much success. Here are a few purses that I really love and wouldn't mind retiring my black one for.
What are your Autumn purse dreams? xoxo Jess.
