Fall Wishlist (#1)

Ahh, I know I went MIA last week but I've been picking up a few people's shifts at work so that leaves me with very little free time and so many things to do besides look stellar. Besides that I got my last school district calender ever, I'm a senior. HOLY GUACAMOLE! With the end of August and my first day of school quickly approaching I've been collecting some back to school wishlists and here is my current one.

I'm on spring break this week and I really wish I was going on a tropical getaway to someplace with palm trees and sandy beaches. This is an outfit I'd love to wear for a day in a tropical place. Une fête de noel

[What I'd Wear: Dress: French Connection (Seen here on Emily Bett Rickards), Shoes: Modcloth, Necklace: Peggy Li, Bracelet: J. Crew, Lipstick: Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Yu.]
With the Holiday season upon us I thought that I'd share a few looks that I'd wear out to holiday gatherings or on Christmas. I love dressing up for the holidays even if it may seem a bit silly it's still one of my favorite things about the holiday season. In this look I paired a not so basic black dress with a lovely pair of red heels and some sweet accessories. Would you wear this to a holiday gathering?

16 Things for A Sweet Sixteen

This year I'm turning 16, that's right, the big 1-6. Although I'm not doing anything special for my birthday (I'll be on stage for my dance recital) I thought it'd be really fun to be together a big “16 Things I Want for My 16th Birthday” wishlist. I've had a ton of fun perusing my favorite shops and narrowing it down to 16 items.
1. Marilyn Monroe Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Poster*- This is one of my favorite Marilyn movies. I think it’s because I just love the fashion in it so much. The poster is amazing. I would love to have this hanging in my room with the rest of my Marilyn pictures.

2. Kate Spade’s Things We Love*- In the blog world everyone buzzed about this book when it came out. The pictures inside are gorgeous and I’d love to have this sitting on my bedside table.

3. KJP Bracelet*- Ever since I started to follow Sarah and Sadie, I've fallen in love with the KJP bracelets. Made in Rhode Island, beautifully crafted these bracelets would light up my summer wardrobe. (Vicker’s Bow in Dapper Huey, Quartermaster collection in Ship Starlin Castle and Lanyard Hitch Collection in Peter Wence.)

4. Loly in the Sky Loafers- These are so dang cute. I actually couldn't decide which ones I like better the lobster ones or the bow tie ones. I can see myself wearing both in all seasons! [Bows/Lobsters]

5. Emery Flats from J. Crew Factory- I love these shoes. The bows, the color, the texture, all of it. They're just great!!

6. Kate Spade Handbag- I was once told that every girl needs a Kate Spade handbag at least once in her life. I believe that!

7. Daisy by Marc Jacobs Perfume*- This is a signature scent of so many of my favorite bloggers. When I finally got around to smelling it in a Macy’s I fell in love. The scent is just gorgeous.

8. Lilly Pulitzer Bow Belt- I've been crushing on this belt and this similar Kate Spade one for a very long time. In my eyes an outfit is always complete if there’s a bow or pearls in it somewhere. This darling belt from Lilly Pulitzer has a bit both. A complete win in my book if you ask me.

9. J. Crew Shorts and Whale Sweater- I really want this outfit for those cold summer nights when a sweater and shorts are appropriate. The whales make the outfit fun and enjoyable.

10. Modcloth Dresses*- Although I have a bunch of dresses now, a girl can never have too many of them (or shoes.)  Since I love Modcloth so much though all I'm really asking for is a gift certificate! One of these two dresses would definitely make it into my cart. [Left/Right]

11. Fuji Instax Wide Instant Camera*- I love the look of an old polaroid. This camera is much like a polaroid camera except it instantly produces wider pictures. I’d love this camera for when I go with the performance team on our nine day trip at the end of June.

12. Movies*- In the US these two movies are rated “R” so I was unable to see them when they came out, I really wanted to. Gangster Squad intrigued me because it’s a period piece (its set in the 40s) that involves good guys changing sides for the good of their city. Oh and Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are working together again. They’re amazing![Gangster Squad Trailer] Silver Linings Playbook was one I wanted to see just because it seemed interesting and a bunch of my blogger friends said they loved it. [Silver Linings Playbook Trailer]

13. Unexpected Expectancy Jewelry- I’m a lover of cute and quirky necklaces. I love this cat ear ring and the cutest kissing couple. So adorable.

14. Essie Nail Polish- Essie is my favorite brand of nail polish. It stays on long, the colors are bright and always have the best names. I would love a few pastel colors and a bright blue or purple. Also I really want the top coats and base coats. I've just run out of my old one and I have to say a manicure is never the same without either of those things.

15. Elsie and Emma’s App, A Beautiful Mess [Not Pictured]- This app just came out on the 14th and everyone is loving it. I love what they have posted about it and can’t wait to try it myself. [I’ll probably get really antsy and buy this for myself way before June(:]

16. Revlon Lip Butters [Not Pictured]- These things are amazing. I have two colors, Strawberry Shortcake and Sweet Tart. They’re both these pretty pinks that work really well with my skin tone. These are really good for when I want the color of a lipstick but the benefits of a lip balm, they perfectly combine the two. Also I’ve had some questions about if it makes my lips dry and no they don’t. I would love to have more of these maybe, Cotton Candy or Cupcake

*Starred items are items that I really really want!!

What I'd Wear: Stripes & Bows

Today is my first day of spring break and I plan on doing nothing. Absolutely nothing, except watching movies, drinking tea and eating my new favorite snack (warm peaches with oats! Yum!) I think that the first day of break is the perfect day to do nothing.
Details: Striped Cardigan- J.Crew, Bow Skirt- Kate Spade, Mary Jane Shoes- J.Crew, Necklace- Modcloth Bracelet- Pink Pineapple
If I was doing something I'd love to wear this. I have a love affair with navy blue. It's such a versatile color that I can't help but return to it time after time. It's the perfect blue. And this little outfit here features three of my favorite things navy blue, bows and stripes. At first I wanted to keep the outfit in the blue and white color palette already established by many of the pieces but then I saw the mint statement necklace and thought it would go perfectly with the cardigan buttoned all the way. And it does, if I do say so myself. Also the Kate Spade skirt is like perfection but in a skirt!

Spring Wishlist

I've been sick for the past two day and I thought that this would be a great time to share my spring wishlist since I won't be getting "dressed up" for a day or two.

Spring is a beautiful season full of the most beautiful colors. My favorite thing about spring has got to be the colors. The pretty pastels are everywhere and it's gorgeous. So it only makes sense that they'd creep their way into my wardrobe. Another amazing thing about spring is bare legs! Although I don't don tights every time I slip on a dress I wear them enough to get sick of them come spring. So I say bye-bye to tights and hello to bare legs!
Buy These Spring Pieces: One\Two\Three\Four\Five\Six\Seven\Eight\Nine
Although I completely adore everything, my ultimate wants from this wishlist are the Yacht Party Dress from Ruche, the Monday's Best Cardigan from Modcloth, Dear Creature's Sweet Caroline dress from Emerging Thoughts and Kate Spade's Things We Love coffee table book. What's on your spring wishlist? xoxo Jess.

Nautical Inspired

I’m sure you could have guessed with Monday's outfit and all that I’m completely obsessed with nautical inspired stuff. There’s something about it I can’t get over. So today I present to you a nautical inspired “Things I love”. Also I felt like using a bit of French today, not sure why but eh, whatever.

Valentine's Day Inspired

With Valentine's day so close I'm wishing my closet consisted of more reds and cute heart prints. But since that wouldn't be too practical for the rest of the year I'll settle with drooling over these picks!

A Pretty Wishlist

When winter rolls around I usually go for outfits that consist of darker colors like navy blue. This year though I’ve enjoyed adding pastels into my winter wardrobe. It all started these pants. I got them for Christmas and really just wanted to wear them, so I did and I didn’t feel like a goof. This time around my wishlist has two pastel pieces, both dresses. I love the details on both. I’m also really into neutral shoes, I really like the way they look. They pull outfits together nicely. Now that swan cardigan is just too cute, it’s got the best novelty print I’ve seen in a while. What are you coveting this week?

Christmas List

Hey everybody it’s 18 days till Christmas! Have you gotten all of your shopping done? No? Me either, I’m a huge slacker in that department I always shop up until the last minute sometime I've even had to go out on Christmas eve. Not fun! I wanted to share this cute little wishlist I made of things I want for Christmas.

[Click Picture To Enlarge If Needed]
Kelli Murray Print- I've been say this every time I include one of her prints in a wishlist but I’ll say it again, I adore her work. It’s all so beautiful. This print is just so cute that I might buy it myself.

Cat Ears Ring- Oh my! My inner cat lady is in full view, I love this ring. It’s quirky yet still cute.

Bow Ring- Almost like polka dots bows are another one of my obsessions. This Kate Spade ring is so cute and I think it would look equally as cute on my finger.

White Knit Sweater- Some days you want to spruce up your winter attire, the sweater and jeans can be a bit repetitive but with a sweater like this one you have a way of spicing it up!

Blue Polka Dot Cardigan-Lace and polka dots, this cardi was made for me! (It's really embroidered but shhh!)

Blue Knit Cardigan- I've been looking for a cardigan that’s like this one for what seems like forever now. It’s perfect.

Tweed Booties & Gold Shoes- I have been lusting over these two pairs of shoes for months, I just haven’t felt the need for either of them. But it’s now winter and New Year’s is right around the corner. Yay boots and hello glitter!

Black Purse- Here’s a little story for you: the purse I have now is almost two years old. I've had it for so long that I can’t find a purse I love that isn’t just like it. This one would be a great change but would keep me inside my comfort zone for purses. Yep, I have a purse comfort zone. Go ahead laugh!

Polka Dot Kate Spade Wallet: Just like my purse my wallet is probably the oldest accessory I own to date. It's really funny, because when I bought my simple black wallet I never imagined getting attached to it. I love this one thought, polka dots are my thing and they make me smile!

Ugly, Ugly Sweater!

Whenever December rolls around all I can think of wearing are ugly Christmas sweaters.  You can’t have the holidays without ugly Christmas sweaters. Of course not all of the Christmas sweaters are actually ugly, they’re just cutesy but you can’t have a cutesy Christmas sweater. It just isn't right! Take a look at some of my favorite ugly Christmas sweaters! Which one’s your favorite?

Booties

As a cold weather native I prefer to wait as long as possible before pulling out my boots. I immediately think of winter when I think of boots not fall like most people. But since it’s November I thought I could share my favorite boots and booties. (Boots coming to you soon)

[Buy These Shoes: 1/2/3/4/5]

En Pointe.

I'm as late as ever sharing this but I kinda wanted to wait until it was after my family celebrated Thanksgiving. Mainly because there's this unspoken rule in my mind that says: don't do anything that has to do with winter until after thanksgiving. Otherwise November doesn't get it's time to shine. On to the lookbook/eye candy.
Ruche created this lookbook that really makes my heart swell.
I've been dancing since I was a wee 5 years old and it's my first love that's never given up on me. I have this love/hate relationship with dancing in the media. Usually what they capture seems to be geared toward the negative effects dancing can have on your mind, body and soul. They're good things too and I think that this lookbook shows that. It might be just a photoshoot with multiple dancers but it does show that sometimes it is a bit glamorous and sparkly. I love that and that is what keeps me coming back to dance. It does get ugly but if you're doing it right the bad will outweigh the good.

Thanksgiving Day Wears!

This year we’re doing Thanksgiving on the Sunday before instead of the Sunday after. I don’t usually wear something overly dressy because in my family all of our holidays are celebrated as a relaxed, friendly get together. I’ll most likely be overdressed in just jeans and a pretty blouse but I certainly had fun putting this dream outfit together!
