Weekly Wishlist: Fall Hues.

1/2/3/4/5/6/7

Sometimes I think that I really just love fall, because of the colors that come with it. Also I have to laugh at myself for picking that polka dot skirt, because I said to myself that I didn't know if I would be able to transfer my love for all things dotty to fall, silly, silly me! Can we discuss about the fact that the Dear Creatures dress (1) is so pretty and perfect for fall that every girl I should just buy it and not feel guilty. It's such a pretty dress, I love love love it!

Obsession: Dear Creatures

It’s no secret that I love a pretty piece of clothing, so when I came across the lovely Coury modeling some of the cutest pieces from Dear Creatures I nearly drooled. I love the way Dear Creatures makes simple patterns seems so much prettier with just a few tweaks. They seriously are my new eye candy obsession!! [Cue internal swoon.]

Take a look at a few of my favorite pieces from their autumn collection modeled by Coury from Fancy Treehouse.

Park side.

Yesterday was one of my aunt's 40 something birthday. To celebrate my mom's eldest sister decided to throw a little family get together at her house. My other aunt had no idea that all of us were there (until her hubby spilled the beans). My aunt's a great person and I'm glad I got to spend her 4_th birthday with her.
My favorite thing about where my aunt lives is the park behind her house. I have some pretty fond memories there like the first time I swung on a "big girl" swing, falling off of that big girl swing, playing on the slides by making little pebble mountains. I love going back there because all those memories seem to just rush back and make me ten times happier about being there.
[I'm Wearing: Shirt Cardigan and Headband:Forever 21, Jeans: Kohl's and Shoes: Target.] Pictures by Cat.
This face is what happens when Cat (My brother's girlfriend) get's me confused.
When my mom reminded me that we were going to my aunt's house for a little get together my mind went blank. I had no idea what to wear. It's been inching it's way into fall weather lately so I knew that I had to take into account that where my aunt lives in Canada is always colder than where I live. I really, really love this cardigan it's so warm and it's the perfect color for fall. (See me wearing it here too!) I love the color so much that my mom bought yarn the exact same color to make me a scarf out of.  On that note I can't wait for the leaves to change colors and drop. It's such a pretty sight when they do. If I haven't said it yet, I'll say it now I love Autumn.

Have a great day. xoxo Jess.

Pieces

I’ve been all over the place lately; I can’t seem to find my happy-medium. Friday closed the third week of school and I’m pretty confident that it will continue to be a productive year as long as nothing happens to derail my train. A few bumps have happened already but nothing too serious. In dance we’re only on our second week so not much could go wrong, although I did have first day jitters in lyrical and jazz the first week. Not sure where they came from but they’re gone now! At home I’ve been free writing, going on mini road trips and having a bunch of father daughter T.V. nights. (Trying to convince my dad to go with me and see Trouble with a Curve, it looks so good.) Those are some of the good, happy things that have happened. I’m finding out that holding onto them instead of dwelling over the few bad things makes life easier and more enjoyable.

Insta Photo Recap:

1. Reading material on my recent mini road trip. (See my thoughts about it here.)
2. The prettiest carousel I ever did see. / A delightful smoothie I had for breakfast.
3. Tea and Geometry. / A little cheat sheet my brother made that still resides in his calculator. NERD. (Love you, James.)
4. Pretty outfits that didn’t make the blog.
5. Dinner pick up with the gals of the family. / A clean closet is a happy closet.
6. My favorite sweater at this time. So warm. So cozy. So nice.

What have you been up to lately? xoxo Jess.

Fast Paced.

Life this week has been fast paced and I’m not fretting. There are a few things that made my heart flutter this week and a few that have made me want to crawl into a hole that goes to the center of the Earth. The good things that happened definitely made me the happiest girl in the world. Getting my arial (no handed) cartwheel was one of those things. I’ve been trying to get my arial cartwheel for a very long time and even though it’s still only on the mat I’m still very happy and proud of myself.
On the flip side of the coin, I was sick this week. All of my friends were sick so I knew that I was going to get sick sooner or later and I guess it was sooner rather than later. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday feeling icky but after a dose of some medicine on Wednesday night I woke up feeling better Thursday morning.
[I'm Wearing: Dress and Shoes: Target, Cardigan and Headband: Forever 21 & Belt: Charlotte Russe.]
(I look sad in the above picture, don't I. I totally didn't mean for it to be that way...)
I wore this on Thursday. I knew that it was going to be a bit on the warmer side so I figured that wearing a dress wouldn’t be such a bad idea. But to keep myself warm I grabbed my really cozy mustard cardigan. It’s so cozy, I feel like I’m wearing a furry animal on my torso. Also, I really love the color of this cardigan; mustard has become one of my fall staples (See me wearing it here & here). It’s such a warm color. What are your favorite fall colors? (I’ve been a fan of navy blue for a very long time).

Relaxed (Part 2.)

After a really long mental debate I decided to post the second relaxed look. Actually it was the first but now we’re just getting’ technical. I didn’t want to post all of them, because like I said they’re all very similar but then again they’re also very different. So my mental debate ended in me sighing and giving into myself. This is the second (first) relaxed look.
[I'm Wearing: Lace Tank and Sweater: Holister (last year), Jeans: Garage (last year) Shoes and Purse: Target Ring: taken from a friend.]
I’ve been wearing this exact outfit since last fall; it’s my ol’faithful so-to-speak. The only thing I ever change is the shoes. These shoes are in fact the ones I wore in part 1 too; they’re perfect for a totally comfy casual look (and giving my poor feet a break from my beloved heels).

Relaxed.

I usually dress a lot fancier than something like this but lately I've been loving this look, comfy. I've worn three different variations of it. (All totally different outfits just similar in look and feel.) In this particular outfit I decided to wear a shirt with a loose feel and look.
[I'm Wearing: Mint Top: Charlotte Russe, Jeans: Kohls, Oxfords: Target.]
My bag is a new addition to my wardrobe. (!) I've been looking for a new bag since, well it seems like forever...so let's go with that. It so perfect for fall and school. It's small, it's within the fall color story and I love it. The last one is the most important of course though.
I have to ask, don't I look really short without heels on? When I was looking at these pictures I totally thought I did. Maybe it's just me or maybe it's because my heels make me taller than both my parents. I'm really not sure. Either way though, these shoes are part of my comfy look just because sometime my little feet ask for a big break. How has your weekend been so far? xoxo Jess.

This is outfit number 6 in my 30 for 30 challenge. To follow along with some that don't end up on the blog follow my instagram, Username: jessicas_wonderland.

& Here is something totally cute and true I stumbled upon. It's irrelevant to the post but it's way too long for a tweet and that's what I would usually do with a quote. So here it is.

You know it's gonna be a bad day when you step in chewing gum with your right foot and doggy doo with your left foot-and that's before you leave your bathroom!-and you don't even chew gum!-and you don't even have a dog!

Unintentional Mixing.

A lot of times if I mix patterns it's not on purpose. I'll be honest mixing patterns scares the (insert word of your choice here) out of me. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm afraid of looking like a fool who doesn't know how to dress properly. I like mixing prints, I'm just intimidated by it.
[I'm Wearing: Dress: Forever 21, Lace Top: Aerie, Shoes: Target]
In this outfit I mixed floral lace and polka dots. Simple enough, right? I wasn't sure how excatly this outfit was going to turn out. I was hoping for the best but expecting the worse. I'm really glad it didn't end it catastrophe but in a really nice outfit I was proud of.
Lame fact about me: I tie neck ties backwards. Actually I do a lot of things backwards and tying a neck tie happens to be one of them. Usually if I'm tying something that i'm going to be wearing like a tie I set it up backwards so all I have to do is flip it around but my mom had to tie this for me, because it's attached to the dress. ♥ Jess.

This was outfit number 5 of my 30 for 30 challenge. (I've only posted four at this time.)

Kindred Spirits.

Tonight my hat goes off to Ruche for bringing us another inspiring lookbook. Their lookbooks are always my favorite, hands down, everything is so perfect! I thought I'd share a few of my favorite looks from Kindred Spirits. You can view the rest of the lookbook here.

I love the warm autumn-hued colors in all of these looks. Seeing them makes me want to curl up in front of a fire  with some tea/hot cocoa and a very good book. (Any recommendations?) The locations where they shot the lookbook is so beautiful, it reminds me of my dad's home town. On a final note can we talk about the model's hair, I love it, it's gorgeous. Make sure to view the rest of the delectable lookbook here. Jess.

Slight Obsessions.

Guess what this week is??? Give up? OK, I'll tell you then, it's my first week of dance class. I love being back to weekly classes with people I've developed great friendships with over the years. They truly make it worth the while.
[I'm Wearing: Dress and Shoes: Target Belt: Off a dress from 579 (last year)]
This outfit was outfit number 3 of my 30 for 30 challenge. I wore this last week Friday just when the weather started to change into delectable autumn weather. I was getting excited mainly because it was still in the high 80s here until then. Like I said in my sweater post, I geeked out and got super excited at the weather report this week. Yay for Autumn!
I love this dress for so many reasons but I think what I love most about it is that it's lace. Lace is one of my new obsessions. I've been wearing it like crazy, it's just so feminine and elegant. What else can I say, I really love it.

Sweater Time!

Eeeek!!! It's chilly today and it's such a welcomed change. No more high humidity and high temperatures. I geeked out when I read the weather report for this week. So perfect I can't wait for it to be like this all the time! This cooler weather calls for none other than sweater inspiration.
[Buy these delightful sweaters: 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/]

Anybody notice a pattern? Polka dots and adorable animals are what I'm craving to be on my sweaters this fall. Actually I crave polka dots on anything in any season! But the animals are just so adorable that I couldn't help but include them.

I have a slightly creepy story that my dad told me about owls that I was remind of when I saw the sweater with an owl on it. My dad's childhood best friend's mom (did you follow that?) had a huge obsession with owls, they were everywhere in the house. One day my dad's childhood best friend's brother had an owl run into his truck and the owl died. Because of that fact that he knew that his mom had an obsession with owls he got it stuffed and gave it to his mom. After that it sat in a glass cabinet in the living room and my dad said he felt like it was following him with it's glass eyes. Creepy right? Well, I thought it was.

Have a great weekend guys! xo Jess.

Mustard like and Minty!

So I’m not ashamed to say that I’m happy I’ve made it through the first week of the school year. Yahoo! Let me tell you, my teacher’s get right down to business. I started the curriculum already in Geometry (yuck!) and in Global History Ten.
This little shin-dig of an outfit is what I wore on picture day yesterday! Everyone I know hates picture day. We all seem to find the littlest flaw in our pictures. I’ll be honest I didn’t hate my picture from last year. It was nice. My hair did what it was supposed to and my makeup looked good. I took these pictures after school yesterday, my hair was still intact and so was my makeup.  I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that it turns out decent.
[I'm Wearing: Lace Top: Aerie by American Eagle, Mint Tank Top: Charlotte Russe, Mustard Jeans: Walmart, High Heels: Target. ]
The inspiration behind this actually comes from two of my favorite bloggers, Elizabeth and Tieka. They've both sported beautiful mint/mustard outfits so I decided to give it a try. I really like how the pieces I picked out play together. The mint is really subtle, because it’s under my lace sweater but you can still see it nicely and I really like that.
This ring! Ohh, I’ve fallen in love with it. The worst part is I hijacked it from a friend of mine. Actually I took it off her finger in English class and I wore it during our French class and now it’s mine. (She approved.) I think it matches my pants more than anything else I’m wearing.
And to close out this post I’m going to talk about what closes out my outfit, these shoes. I got so many comments about them but I really love them. Yes, they make me really tall, yes they make a lot of noise when I walk and yes, they aren’t the best choice for a four-story building  with stairs but I love them and will wear them proudly.  I enjoy being slightly daring with my shoe-wear.

My question for you. Do you like any of your previously taken school pictures?

Have a great weekend everyone! xoxo Jess.

A pretty good hand.

Over the past 5 years I've been dealt a hand of cards that I would consider pretty good. My good cards have out weighed my bad cards big time. I've gotten lucky in that department, because we only have control over what we do with the card we are dealt and what cards we are dealt. And I'm not sure why it is that some of the nicest people get the worst hand they could possibly get while other people who clearly don't deserve it  get a beautiful royal flush. They just do, in my experience though it will catch up with them sooner or later.

[Sneek Peek of Tomorrows Outfit Post.]
With the start of school this week some of my old, bad cards were brought up. I find that certain
ones get touchier with time and the particular one that was brought up falls right into that category. This one started getting touchy about 3 years ago now it's volatile but I tread lightly, defend myself when needed and protect myself when it blows. But nothing is ever perfect. Sometimes even though we do all that stuff it doesn't just blow, it takes us down with it as collateral damage. The aftermath leaves us picking up the pieces of something we know will never be the same. I've done that so many times with that one card that I didn't see the actual damage it had done.

I've seen it and I'm glad that the card that caused it all is no longer in my hand.
