Holiday Wishlist 2013

The holidays are upon us and I'm so excited! I love the holidays. I love the feel that they give off. I love the family time, the gifts given and received. I just love the holidays (although I could do without the cold weather we're having right now...). Below are a few things that I wouldn't mind receiving during the holiday season.

State Of The Union...Sorta

 So since this blog is run by me, myself and I can I really call this a State of The Union address or is that just incorrect? It is? Well I'm doing it anyways!

Hello, is anybody out there? *looks nervously out and hopes to someone in the distance* I know I have been very quiet around here and I thought I'd share why. Sometimes we all need breaks and with the end of my winter performance season coming up I gave myself one...last week. I only posted twice and one of them wasn't even a regular feature (but seriously how cute is my tree?). I was all ready to get back into the game but poof my plan disappeared and a kidney stone appeared. Yep, you heard that right. A kidney stone. Let me tell you if you've heard stories, believe them. The pain is terrible, so terrible that I vomited from it. I rated the pain a 8 (out of 10) and most people rate it up there with labor pains and chest pain. But don't fret I'm almost up to par today and am getting better everyday! But I figured that I should address the sudden leave of absence! Thank you for your understanding. ♥

With the Holiday season upon us I thought that I'd share a few looks that I'd wear out to holiday gatherings or on Christmas. I love dressing up for the holidays even if it may seem a bit silly it's still one of my favorite things about the holiday season. In this look I paired a not so basic black dress with a lovely pair of red heels and some sweet accessories. Would you wear this to a holiday gathering?

Little Bits

Its Beginning to Look a Little Like Christmas!

I put up my mini tree in my room on Saturday because I was so bummed last year when I forgot to. I've had this tree since fifth grade when my aunt bought it for me. I updated it from my middle school version (it's so funny to see how much I've changed) with gold garland, pink ornaments and a few of my favorite Misfit Toys. Random fact: my favorite Misfit Toy is the polka dot elephant. I have wanted one since I was a little kid! I never could understand how any child wouldn't want an elephant (or elfalent if your me as a child) with polka dots on it. I'd love to have an elephant with polka dots on it!

Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!  I hope you and your family are enjoying some time together. I've put together some things I'm thankful for. 

I'm thankful for the obvious things, my family, my friends my animals, and my well being but there are things, the little things, that matter more than anyone would imagine. these little things are the things that make me smile more than anything else. Some of the little things that I'm grateful for are, my passing grade in Algebra 2/Trig (!!!), the cuteness that my cats bring, my ever growing love for people who do good things and have pretty hearts,the internet (duh!) and most of all I'm thankful for the fact that I have people who are willing to listen to me no matter the time of day.

If you've been following my blog for a while you've probably noticed some Kiel James Patrick stuff making it's way into my What I'd Wear posts almost weekly. I love the Kiel Jame Patrick brand. The brand is run by Kiel James Patrick himself in Rhode Island and all of his products are quality made right here in America! What's better than that? Not much, I tell you! For my first purchase I went for the Overboard Knot, because of it's simplicity and wearability. I love the quality of it and I cannot describe to you how happy I am with this purchase. 

Television Inspiration

Lately I've been finding myself incredibly inspired by the TV shows I watch. Most recently I have been inspired by Arrow, a TV show about The Green Arrow (DC Comics). Yes, a TV show where half it's screen time is utilized shows the main characters in leather or dark green hoods inspires my style. Thea and Felicity are the two characters who are constantly inspiring me on Arrow. Both Thea and Felicity's style is modern yet functional. I mean Felicity spends her nights in the basement of a club for Pete's sake, her style has to be functional. Their style doesn't really overlap with mine all that much but that's the fun part of being inspired by them, I get to escape my comfort zone for a place that's fun to play in. This outfit is a directly result of playing outside of my comfort zone. And it is inspired by the girls of Arrow(I could see both Felicity and Thea wearing it) because they kick all kinds of butt.

Happy November! I have grown to love this time of year, summer will always hold my heart but fall is a softer time that's filled with gorgeous colors, countless changes and the marvels of mother nature. When this time of year hits I love pulling out my boots. Boots are my one item that I consider to be a must have for fall/winter, especially here in Buffalo. These boots are the only pair of boots I have that are over-the-knee boots and they're great for when I want to step out of my comfort zone.

I hope you all had a blast doing whatever it is that you do on Halloween! I give out candy and then once all the candy we have is gone I go to my one of my dad's old friend's house for the cotton candy and popcorn he gives out every year! So yummy and such a fun tradition that I look forward to every year! 

Today marks the start of the holiday season. I love the holiday season, the whole feel of it makes me so happy and uplifted. Today is also the day that I start scouring the internet for the perfect boots, perfect sweater and coat. I'm almost always looking for the those during this season. Any suggestions? 

And on a side note, after loving and looking at Kiel James Patrick bracelets for at least year I have finally (!) purchased one (this one) and cannot wait for it to arrive!
