Corduroy Pants

These pants, let's chat about them. They're corduroy and I'm sure that somewhere somebody is rolling their eyes at me wondering why I'm wearing corduroy pants. I rolled my eyes too when I bought them but, you see, I'm happy to break the rules once in awhile. Corduroy pants don't have to be revered for grandma and grandpa, I can wear them too! And I don't even look the slightest bit frumpy! My whole goal was that the color of the pants, the gorgeous blue, was the focal point of this outfit. So by adding the plain, crisp white top I did just that. Stay tuned for another way to wear corduroy pants on Wednesday with this J.Crew Factory Hen Cardigan.

Bright Colors

Happy Friday!

This week was not my favorite week, as it was a transition week where everything was haywire. I had random schedule changes, additions and subtractions. But now this week has come to a close and I can celebrate with a bright colored skirt and an embellished top!

This skirt is short, I'm not going to lie about it. I wore shorts under it though so that made me feel safe around wind and walking up the stairs (my school has four stories). My favorite elements of this outfit were the colors. I love the bright blue in the skirt, pale blues on the sweater and my red purse that brings in the final pop of color!

Welcoming Fall

Some weeks my life is a bundle of chaos; this week was one of those weeks. Dance started, I’m still on my summer work schedule and I had a bit of a cold from this weather that’s been changing. It’s safe to say that this week was not my favorite. But today marks the last day of summer, it’s been raining all day and I just bought a fall/winter purse. I’m excited for fall; I’m ready to welcome it with open arms. 

 

This skirt always gets me in the mood for apple picking. The crisp red and white automatically remind me of the Cortland apples I love to munch on during the season. A few people have said that this skirt reminds them of a picnic, while I see that I like apples better than picnics. This season I’m excited to do seasonal things but most of all I can’t wait to wear all the fun sweaters, tights and the colors of fall. What is your favorite thing about fall fashion?

Mail Days!

Summer has made an encore appearance for the last few days. It’s hot, terribly, terribly hot! Mark and I are joking about winter (not yet please!) and begging for cooler more comfortable weather. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer, I really do but it’s just too hot out. Plus in my neck of the woods we receive humidity that makes 88 degree weather feel like 96! With all this hot, I’m excited for fall now! Just last week I ordered a fall appropriate sweater (this one) and this week I've got this one and this one on my wishlist. 

Speaking of mail! I love mail, I love getting mail, sending mail! I love everything about it! Sometimes I’m impatient, other times I forget about what’s supposed to be coming in the mail. Take today for example, I came home from school and my mother told me that I had gotten mail. I wracked my brain trying to figure out what had come. My Modcloth order (see above) isn't scheduled to arrive until tomorrow, my Asos order (this) should arrive within 3 days and what I thought to be my last order was coming from China so I knew it wasn't here yet. When I opened the little package (no bigger than the size of a 99¢ bag of chips) I saw that my (let me geek out here) Catwoman Lego key chain had arrived!!  I was so happy and I’m sure my mother thought I was the strangest person she’s met. I’m a hugeCatwoman fan (& Lego's too), when I was younger I was upset that she was a villain because I thought she was so cool.  So when I found out that DC and Lego (another one of my favorite things) had made a key chain for her I was just ecstatic!  I ordered one as soon as I found one (Lego no longer sells them) and now Catwoman rests on my key chain along with Wonder Woman (and soon to be Batman-I have to add Batman)!
