Three Ways To Style A Miltary Button Up

We all have those days where we wake up and look into our full closets and decide that we have nothing to wear. On those types of mornings I like to grab things I know are versatile. Today I'm showing you how this Topshop military shirt ( I just bought it!!) can be styled three different ways! Versatility at its best!

3 Ways To Style A Military Button Up: Over A Dress

This is usually the most common styling for me. I love the simplicity. Plus, depending on my mood I can either tie it so you see more of the skirt or I can wear it open. With this dress, I'd probably wear it open.

Three Ways To Wear a Military Button Up: Paired With A Graphic Tee

Zoe Krassen Graphic Tee  (here in a sweatshirt)// Topshop Military Button Up // Topshop Jeans // Oasis Flats // Ring // Kate Spade Handbag //

2. Paired With A Graphic Tee: I have recently fallen in love with this styling. Graphic tee used to scare me but now I love them. They pair with so much! This Zoe Krassen tee is a bit expensive but I love what it says. It's honestly the best thing I've seen on a tee in awhile. It's so true: girls say yes to boys who say no.

Three Ways To Wear A Military Button Up: Tucked in and paired with a skirt

3. Tucked in and paired with a skirt: This is a fail safe for every blogger - a buttoned blouse and a skirt. So classic and it works every time! To give this look a bit of oomph I added a black and white scarf and made sure the skirt was interesting to look at!

Which of these three looks are your favorite? xx Jess

Happy Monday! I hope you're having a lovely day! Today it's a crisp 55 degrees here in Buffalo, perfect weather for my mother-not so much for me. So I grabbed a recent Target buy, threw on some jeans and my new Rebecca Minkoff Mini Affair before I headed out the door. I love how my accessories really pull this look together!

Heading into Autumn

I'm Wearing: Top: Asos // Jacket: Target // Jeans: American Eagle // Shoes: DV Dolce Vita // Scarf: Modcloth
I'm a spring/summer gal through and through, I will wait as long as I possibly can before I turn to my fall/winter wardrobe. I'll be forcing my summer style as long as I can by doing things like I'm doing in this outfit, adding a jean jacket and a bright but fall toned scarf! Are you guys ready for fall?
This past weekend was so great, I performed at the Music is Art Festival. It was such a fun thing to do and I'm so glad to have that experience. Also, yesterday Dancing With The Stars premiered their 19th season and I'm so excited for it. I'm rooting for Alfonso/Witney, Sadie/Mark and Jonathan/Alison! If you're watching I'd love to know who you are rooting for!!

Dry Clean Only

Top: Sincerely Jules // Pants: Target (old) // Shoes: DV Dolce Vita via TJ Maxx // Purse: Sole Society

Yes, gasp! Call the fashion police because I am wearing white after Labor Day! But in all honesty I say pish-posh to that "no white after Labor Day" rule or any fashion rule. I say wear whatever makes you happy, because fashion is supposed to be fun not chalk full of silly rules!

Last First Day

I'm Wearing: Top: H&M // Jeans: American Eagle // Shoes: Payless // Necklace: Peggy Li // Handbag: Sole Society

Holy cow! Today I woke up and attended my last first day of high school, it's crazy!! I remember freshman year like it was yesterday. I remember the jitters, I remember how scary (not to mention confusing) my high school seemed. Now as a senior, those jitters are gone, my high school now just seems annoying (who decided a "U" shaped school would be a great idea?) and I'm ready for senior year to take off.

Thanks for reading! xx Jess
And I just looked it up, I've got 290 days until I graduate! eeep!!

Musings After Watching The Spectacular Now

Have you ever watched a movie and just resonated with the character so much that it suddenly becomes your favorite movie? That happened to me last night. Now I'm not one to watch movies often and when I do they're most likely old or indie movies, but this movie, The Spectacular Now, all 93 minutes of it just sat with me. I kept thinking, oh my gosh, Aimee Finicky is me, we are so close to being the same person. I've never felt that way about a character before, never met one so much like myself (or what I think I'm like) that I could honestly say I knew what was going through her mind. It's scary, for me, to think that there are people out there just like me; awkward, patient, naïve, and so trusting that it's almost our downfall. It's scary and comforting to know that people have to make the same decisions I do but on the same hand I wish that on nobody. Nobody should be so afraid to do anything (including kiss that guy you think could be wrong for you but could also be so right) that it limits your life to a predictable pattern. Patterns are for those who've already experienced life and as a 17 year old, I have not. After watching this movie I've got a different outlook on life and I want to try and live in the now because tomorrow is another now and so is the next day.

Have you ever watched a movie and had thoughts like these? Do share!

* The Spectacular Now is rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America. *

Sunday Loungin'

I'm Wearing: Top: Brandy Melville via Pacsun // Shorts: Aerie //

On the rare Sunday that I have the morning (or in this case whole day) off I like to wear things like this: an oversized sweater and a pair of cute shorts. These are both recent purchases and I'm smitten. I actually saw both of these on a shopping trip about a week ago when I was with a friend but I didn't bring any cash with me because I didn't want to buy anything so I mulled it over and went back on Friday to buy both of these pieces. I guess you could call it smart shopping! Also on days off I like to catch up on all the posts I've missed/skipped, what are your favorite blogs currently?
