Coral Flamingo

Coral Flamingo
What I'd Wear: Flamingo Tee: Sincerely Jules // Skirt: Nasty Gal // Shoes: Sole Society // Necklace: Bauble Bar // Purse: Rebecca Minkoff // Lipstick: YSL Rouge Volupte in #13

This what I'd wear outfit is really an outfit I'd love to wear. Lately I've been into pair a tee with something a bit fancier for a balanced look that's almost tomboyish (I could swap the heels for flats and ta-da)! My favorite piece in this whole outfit is the Rebecca Minkoff bag. I want one but I'm thinking of getting one in grey for back to school/fall time!

Thank you for reading. xx Jess

Copy Cat

I'm Wearing: Top: Sincerely Jules // Skirt: JOA // Shoes: DV Dolce Vita via TJ Maxx (similar // similar) // Lipstick: YSL Rouge Volupte in Pink in Paris #13  // Sunglasses: Target // Ring: BaubleBar  (See one more way I wore this shirt on my instagram here!)I've never been one to buy an outfit that a blogger is wearing because usually I only like one part of it. I'll like the dress but not what it's paired with, or I'll like the skirt but not the shirt. You know how these things go, right? But then I saw this outfit from everybody's favorite blogger (and if she's not your favorite well then I'm happily making a hyperbole) Blair of Atlantic-Pacific. She's possibly my favorite blogger of all time because her style is to die for. I love it. This is the exact top and skirt she is wearing in this post and the only things I don't have are the bag, shoes and sunnies but I used similar things I had on hand to make this a copy-cat look a lot like the original. Have you guys ever done this?

I'm back at dance this week because I'm performing in early September with a select group of girls at the Music is Art Festival and Fundraiser here in Buffalo. I'm excited. I've also got another performance at the beginning of August using my previously performed solo from this year's recital. I'm excited to be a part of all these things. My body on the other hand is not so fond of using all the muscles that haven't been properly used in almost a month. #dancerproblems

Thank you for reading, Jess!

the ballerina project

While I'm at rehearsals today for an upcoming performance (more on that soon!) I thought I'd share some beautiful pieces by Dane Shitagi. These pieces are a part of the Ballerina Project!

Jean Shorts

I'm Wearing: Top: Old Navy // Shorts: Target // Shoes: DV Dolce Vita via TJ Maxx // Necklaces: Peggy Li Creations and Target // Headband: dance ribbon tied around my head!

This is my first pair of jean shorts in years. I years. I think I was in middle school and they were total booty shorts (yikes). Now don't get me wrong these puppies are never going to be seeing the inside of my high school but they are a respectable length for a summer day. I paired them with a not-so-basic white tank top, my favorite sandals and some jewelry for a complete look.
(Let's do some acrobatics why don't we??)

(And how to properly do a front walkover AKA the many outtakes of that last shot)

The Not So Basic Tee

I'm Wearing: Top: Target // Shorts: Francesca's Collection // Shoes: Payless (old) // Necklace: Peggy Li Creations //

I dislike tee shirts. There I said it. I feel undone and too much like my mother when I wear them but then walked in this one from Target. I had been browsing for an upcoming outing and it's gorgeous lilac color dragged me over to it (they also have a cerulean one and a beautiful light blue one). What drew me in next was the sheer/chiffon panels, it takes the shirt from dull and boring to beautiful and wearable. I love it.

Cycling

I'm Wearing: Top: Vintage // Skirt: Target (thrifted) // Shoes: Payless (old) // Necklace: Peggy Li Creations

Have you ever been looking at a statement piece and just known what would compliment it perfectly? I did that with this skirt. I knew a pretty white blouse would be perfect with the quirky bicycle print. I love how it looks and how it makes the whole outfit soft with a vintage feel.
This week is just a basic summer week. I'm watching TV shows again (Hello OUAT and PLL), reading like a mad woman (currently reading The Princess Bride and Lullaby) and dreaming up some pretty interesting things. What are you up to this week?

P.S. Happy Canada Day
