❄ What I Got For Christmas 2014 ❄

***Disclaimer: Christmas is a time where you should spend your time with family and friends. This post is not meant to come off as bragging. I am incredibly thankful for my family and for everything they've bought me, but Christmas means more to me than the exchange of gifts.***

I love opening my gifts on Christmas morning. It's always a fun experience to see each of the gifts that my friends and family put so much thought into. I thought it'd be fun to share what I got for Christmas this year Most of this is from my parents but a few random ones are thrown in too. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!

In My Stocking :
Barnes and Noble Gift Card- This was my Secret Santa gift from work. Honestly, I love it. Books are amazing.
Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince- So I'm currently in the process of rereading the Harry Potter series (!) and I only had up to book 5 because I believe I lost book 6 on a Canadian camping trip and 7, I have no clue where he is. I knew that I needed to buy book 6 again before it came time to read it so I bought it for my self and stuck it in my stocking!
The Body Shop Strawberry Puree- My mum bought all of the beauty products in my stocking (with a little help form me) so I knew all of them but that doesn't take away from the fact that this stuff smells so good I could almost eat it.
The Body Shop Shimmer Cube in bronze - I'm a green eyed girl who knows bronzes bring out the lighter shades of my eyes.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder- #Essiebuttoneffect
The Body Shop Makeup Brushes- #therewasasale
Bite Beauty Lipgloss- As far as lipglosses goes this one ranks pretty high. It's a bit sticky but it's not as bad as some could be, it's a wonderful shade and the smell is just delightful (so pretty and fruity).
Benefit Beauty Rockateur- I wanted to try a new blush (originally NARS Amour) so after walking around Sephora I decided on this baby, who has a delightful rose-gold color.

_______

Other Gifts:
Tommy Hilfiger Cable Knit Sweater- I love this color and how warm this is. It's a perfect oversized sweater (I sized up). Outfit with this fella coming soon!!
Tommy Hilfiger Socks- I have cold feet no matter what so these thick socks are a must.
American Eagle Jegging Sweater- Sweater Weather
Aerie Bra-
dELiA*s Long sleeve top- It was a going out of bussiness sale, it's so dang soft!
Francesca's Purse- Something new in a pretty color
Hogwarts Tee Shirt- #allIwantfoxmasismyhogwartsletter
Maleficent Movie- Angelina Jolie for the win
The Perks of Being a Wallflower Movie- I ♥ this but never bought it until now.
Taylor By Taylor Swift- My parents picked this out, I haven't truly tried it yet but from what I've smelled, I'm intrigued.
Marilyn Monroe Calender

October Favorites

October was a great month but for some reason I can't quite put my finger on it. I didn't really do much different but I think some months just put me in a better head space than others and October was definitely one of those. Here are the things I loved in October!
Nike Flex Trainer 3 - I don't love sneakers, in fact I kind of hate them but after a long, hard decision I came to the realization that I need sneakers. In a true blogger fashion I made sure my sneaks stood out with their orange/pink color scheme.
Target Blanket Scarf- It's officially fall here in Western New York and despite a hatred for cold weather (and it's fashion) I'm starting to like layering a little bit. This blanket scarf from target is super soft, has similar colors to the infamous Zara one and rang in at $16.99!
It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Product- This product is a bit hard to explain but in it's most basic explanation it's a leave in conditioner that makes your hair so silky. I love this stuff.
L'oreal Paris Magic Nude Liquid Powder- I bought this stuff back in August and didn't start using it until my homecoming at the beginning of the month. This is the perfect foundation for fall and winter because it's matte without drying (it does highlight dry spots if you have any though) and it's incredibly lightweight because it is liquid to powder.
Bite Beauty Fruit Scrub in Whipped Cherry- If you've never heard of Bite Beauty, they are a company that is run out of Toronto who specializes in lip products that are healthy enough to eat, because we'll eat a lot of lipstick in our lifetime. I think that's cool. Now to the product it's a softer, gentlier lip scrub which I like but it still does the deed. The only thing I don't like about it is that it smells and tastes  like Cherry Starbursts and I hate that flavor.
1989 DLX Taylor Swift- I am so in love with this album that I had to have the physical copy (DLX so I could get the 3 bonus songs)! It's different than what Swift has done before but it's still great. She's growing and evolving and it shows in her music. It's something that I know I'll be listening to for a long time.
Nestle Crunch Caramel and Coconut bar- Do I need to explain the goodness of Crunch and  Samoas together?
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Sassy Mauve- This is a Kylie Jenner lipstick that's definetly more mauve than brown but it's still in the 90s lip trend and for me, it works in fall!

Burgundy & Navy

Burgundy & Navy

What I'd Wear: Dress: Theory // Cardigan: Mango // Necklace: Peggy Li Creations (linked to her home page because I ♥ all of her things but the necklace featured is here) // Shoulder bag: Daily Look  (comes in 4 colors) //  Shoes: Sole Society

In contrast to Monday's very relaxed, almost too casual outfit this is what I'm dreaming of wearing today! I've fallen in love with burgundy and navy as a color combination. I just think it's so dang pretty and fall worthy. What's your favorite color combo for fall?

Let's Be Real

I'm Wearing: Tee: gift from my aunt // Sports Bra: Victoria's Secret Pink // Jeans: F21 // Sneaker(!): Nike // Necklace: Peggy Li Creations // Bracelet: Kate Spade New York (no longer available) // Nails: Sally Hansen Wine Not

It's Monday and I'm sporting the most basic outfit to ever be featured on the blog but I like it. Also, all I've been doing today is listen to Taylor Swift's 1989, because it exceeded my expectations!

Fall Dress

I'm Wearing: Cardigan/Dress/Belt: Target // Tights: Target (favorite pair here) // Shoes: Modcloth (mini review here) // purse: kate spade new york (old) // lipstick: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Red Velvet (so pretty in person)

Happy Monday everybody, I hope it's treating you well. This weekend was a bit crazy for me; I had homecoming on Saturday and then Thanksgiving yesterday (Canadian, of course). It's safe to say I'm pooped and ready for a nice sleep tonight. But until then I'll don this pretty outfit and wait till it's 10 o'clock so I can go to bed!

Thanks for reading!

September Favorites

Note: this post got lost in my drafts :( but I thought it was still relevant to post!

Holy cow, September has flown by! I know we all say that every month but it's honestly true! I feel like just yesterday I was going into my last first day of school and now I'm prepping for my first and last homecoming! So crazy and exciting! Here's my favorites for September.

Brandy Melville Hoodie- Brandy Melville is a brand loved my stars (here's a quick google proof for ya) and it's easy to see why. This hoodie is so dang soft and comfortable it's like I'm wearing a cloud.
J.Crew Flats- I've been looking for a good pair of loafers to replace my DV Dolce Vita pair that I've nearly run into the ground. I found these while searching, obviosuly they won't be replacing my loafers but they will give 'em a run for their money.
Rebecca Minkoff Mini Affair Bag- I've been looking at Rebecca Minkoff bags for awhile now. To me they're some of the most asthetically pleasing bags on the market. When I found this one at a discounted price I threw a mini party!!
Lush's Ro's Argan Body Conditioner- I love Lush. Their products are so heavenly and this was no exception. It's kind of like conditioner for your hair but for your body. You use it the same way and it leaves your skin smelling wonderful and feeling like you've just walked out of a spa.
My Charger Portable Charger- My phone has a battery worse than the iPhone's so it dies often. To combat this I bought a portable charger with a cute print!
Benefit Gimme Brow- I have semi-good brow game but my bangs hide them. So instead of fixing them up everyday whisk this baby on to them and they do a tiny transformation into something lovely-even hidden by my fringe.
Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes- I love mascara that gives me defined, voluminous lashes and this one is it! I've been wearing it non-stop since I bought it!
Nivea A Kiss of Milk and Honey Soothing Lip Care- I carry this around with me and is super nice to throw on before I put on some lipgloss or lipstick or just by itself.
Beauty and The Beast iPod Cover- How cute is this? Hmm? I just got a new iPod and I've been dying to get this case, it's so adorable! I love it!!

What have you been loving lately? Is there anything I should try?

Thanks for reading!

Coordinates

I'm wearing: Top/Skirt: Forever 21 (Here|Here) // Shoes: Modcloth // Purse: kate spade new york (old)

I've never really fallen in love with the coordinate trend. I usually think the top is too boxy but love the bottoms, plus I really haven't fallen in love with crop tops yet so that was just another nail in this poor trends proverbial coffin. But then as I was browsing my tumblr feed I spotted these on one of my favorite celebs ever, Taylor Swift. Not only is she a killer songwriter and performer she has some of the best fashion taste out there so when I saw her wearing these (completely affordable) pieces I just knew I had to have them!! I paired this look with my new Rag and Bone knock offs from Modcloth. High fashion low price tag!

and PS did you catch the new 'do?

Three Ways To Style A Miltary Button Up

We all have those days where we wake up and look into our full closets and decide that we have nothing to wear. On those types of mornings I like to grab things I know are versatile. Today I'm showing you how this Topshop military shirt ( I just bought it!!) can be styled three different ways! Versatility at its best!

3 Ways To Style A Military Button Up: Over A Dress

This is usually the most common styling for me. I love the simplicity. Plus, depending on my mood I can either tie it so you see more of the skirt or I can wear it open. With this dress, I'd probably wear it open.

Three Ways To Wear a Military Button Up: Paired With A Graphic Tee

Zoe Krassen Graphic Tee  (here in a sweatshirt)// Topshop Military Button Up // Topshop Jeans // Oasis Flats // Ring // Kate Spade Handbag //

2. Paired With A Graphic Tee: I have recently fallen in love with this styling. Graphic tee used to scare me but now I love them. They pair with so much! This Zoe Krassen tee is a bit expensive but I love what it says. It's honestly the best thing I've seen on a tee in awhile. It's so true: girls say yes to boys who say no.

Three Ways To Wear A Military Button Up: Tucked in and paired with a skirt

3. Tucked in and paired with a skirt: This is a fail safe for every blogger - a buttoned blouse and a skirt. So classic and it works every time! To give this look a bit of oomph I added a black and white scarf and made sure the skirt was interesting to look at!

Which of these three looks are your favorite? xx Jess

Stripes and Denim

I'm Wearing: Top: Target // Demin: American Eagle (favorite place to buy jeans) // Shoes: DV Dolce Vita (old) // Bracelet: Kate Spade New York  (old)// Necklace: Peggy Li Creations // Purse: Rebecca Minkoff (Mini Affair)

Happy Monday! I hope you're having a lovely day! Today it's a crisp 55 degrees here in Buffalo, perfect weather for my mother-not so much for me. So I grabbed a recent Target buy, threw on some jeans and my new Rebecca Minkoff Mini Affair before I headed out the door. I love how my accessories really pull this look together!
