Inspiration: Winter Wears

Winter has really arrived here in Buffalo. We’ve got snow covering the ground, ice in all the places we don’t want it and of course you can’t have a winter without someone falling on their tush.  With all that icky goodness here it makes getting dressed in the morning a bit of a hassle. I check the weather report about five times the night before, lay my stuff out on my ottoman and then hope and pray the weather report hasn’t changed in about 6 hours.  Due to this craziness that goes by the name of winter, I’ve started to pull some of my favorite winter wears from a few of my most loved blogs (that have winter where they live). I thought it’d be fun to share a few outfits that I love with you.

Steffy of Steffy's Pro's & Cons- I love how Steffy wears a sweater with cute print over a dress and an amazing collar.

Elizabeth of Delightfully Tacky- I love the pattern mixing of this outfit but I love the tights and boots the most out of this outfit.

Tieka of Selective Potential- I love anything and everything polka dotted so pairing a polka dot dress with tights and some warm yet cute boots and I'm all over it.
Steffy of Steffy's Pros and Cons- I usually associate wearing floral prints with the warmer months but this look is so cute that I may just be convinced otherwise.
Tieka of Selective Potential- When I think of pairing black, brown and blue together I get a little nervous. I'm worried about looking like a bruise or a person who gets dressed in the dark but Tieka's look shows a balance between black and brown by using brown as an accent color and black as a base. The blue top makes the whole look pop!

What’s Lurking Around in my Bag?

Well I’m known for having a huge purse and nothing really useful in it. I can never find a pen (who can though?), or my lip gloss, oh and don’t even get me started about the mini heart attacks I get when my phone is lost in the sea I call my purse.
The purse: a Christmas present from my dad! I begged him to get it for me but I wasn't sure he was going to. Every time I mention needing a new purse I always get the same response, “Don’t you have enough of those?” Oh men! They’ll never understand the necessity of having 48913 purses. (I’ll let you in on a secret: neither do I! GASP!) But I do love this purse either way. [It’s from TJ Maxx.]
Inside the purse: Softlips/Lip gloss/Lip balm,Wallet (Charlotte Russe),Assorted Pens and Pencils, Butterfingers jingles,Lucky Penny, Calculator for Geometry, Keys, Cell Phone, Bobby Pins (opened and closed) , Thin Mints, Stray Hair Tie (wrapped around thin mints), Glamour Magazine (November)

& Heat Wave by Richard Castle- Oh my, this is possibly the only book I've fallen in love with since I picked up Harry Potter for the first time. Murder mystery, romance and wit all wrapped up and tied in a bow. I’m a sucker for this book. Little thoughts soon to follow!!

My Escape

A book? Thousands of words woven together to create magical sentences. Those magical sentences then become paragraphs that then become chapters and together they create something more magical than magic itself. They create a world that would otherwise never exist. They make all outside problems disappear. They’re responsible for providing knowledge; creating new dreams and making you believe that you can do what you want. To me that’s what a book is. It’s my escape, my little sanctuary.

I've been reading this one book series since last week and I’m already hooked. I think that when a book transports you into another universe it should immediately go into the must-read column. This book does that and more. It’s a murder mystery novel that makes you feel pain when you’re supposed to, laugh when you’re not and be skeptical of every person you see. (That last one has been a habit ever since I started watching crime shows in oh, I don’t know sixth grade.) What I really enjoy about the novel I’m reading is that it’s also got romance in it. And no, a crime of passion wasn't committed. Not that I know of anyways. (I've yet to finish).  For now and possibly the next few weeks my mind will be thinking about reading and re-reading books of this series that I've just started!
I'm Wearing:
 Jeans: Kohl's
 Shoes: Target
